Rhodonite's name comes from the Greek word for rose, rhodon.

Properties: In crystal healing, rhodonite is an excellent tool for strengthening the emotions, helping particularly in relationships where clear communication is vital. Rhodonite is also said to ease shock, anxiety, or mental overload.

Tidbit History: Rhodonite was first discovered in the 1790s in the Ural Mountains of Russia. It was called orletz by the locals, which is Russian for “the Eagle Stone”. It obtained this name because people began to notice that eagles in the region often carried small pieces of Rhodonite to their nests.
