Mohs Hardness Scale: 6-6.5

Properties: Pyrite is a powerful protection stone that shields and protects against all forms of negative vibrations and/or energy.

Not only does pyrite protect against negative energy and attract positive energy (wealth, abundance, opportunity), but it also serves to release and neutralize any negative energy that has accumulated. Fearful energy that may be blocking success can be discharged by the presence of pyrite.

Tidbit History: Its mineralogical name derives from the Greek word “pyr,” meaning fire. This name was used in ancient times for various minerals that emitted sparks if hit by an iron tool. In medieval times, pyrite was even used in flint locks for the first firearms, later to be replaced by the harder flint (a quartz variety)

Pyrite is most often mined for the gold, copper, or other elements associated with it. Pyrite used to be polished by Native Americans in early times and used as mirrors.

Handmade using raw brass. Double-triple coated. Some pieces are oxidized to give them the deep and warm feel of the ancients.
